  • Half-day (3 hour) workshops cover 3 skills (typically my Core Strategies: Values, Gratitude, and Connection)

    Full-day (6 hour) workshops cover 6 skills (typically my Core Strategies plus Mindfulness, Tactical Breathing, and Controlling the Controllables)

    I also offer this to leadership teams in collaboration with Dr. Dave Jackson as an intimate retreat (6-10 attendees).

Mental Health Certification

Accredited, evidence-based mental health certification courses

  • Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training that teaches people how to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of a mental health or substance use challenge in adults ages 18 and over.

    The evidence behind MHFA demonstrates that it builds mental health literacy, providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental health or substance use challenge. This course is offered virtually or in-person.

    I am also certified in several specialty modules:

    • Fire & EMS (in-person only)

    • Military Members, Veterans, and Their Families (in-person only)

    • Older Adults (in-person only)

    • Higher Education (in-person or virtual)

    • Rural Communities (in-person only)

    MHFA certification is good for 3 years

  • QPR (Question, Persuade, & Refer) is a program that works by teaching participants skills they can use when someone is experiencing a potential mental health crisis.

    Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives. It is the most widely taught Gatekeeper Training in the world.

    Although I recommend the course be held for 2 hours, I also offer a basic 1-hour certification course.

    QPR Certification is good for 1 year

  • VitalCog is designed to help workplaces appreciate the critical need for suicide prevention while creating a forum for dialogue and clinical thinking about workplace mental health challenges.

    The program specifically designed for workplace settings builds a case for suicide prevention in business and corporate settings while promoting help-seeking and help-giving.

    VitalCog Certification is good for 2 years

  • VitalCog is designed to help Athletic Departments appreciate the critical need for suicide prevention while creating a forum for dialogue and clinical thinking about athlete mental health challenges.

    The program specifically designed for Athletics settings builds a case for suicide prevention within sport while promoting help-seeking and help-giving.

    VitalCog Certification is good for 2 years

  • VitalCog is designed to help those in the construction industry appreciate the critical need for suicide prevention while creating a forum for dialogue and clinical thinking about mental health challenges within construction.

    The program specifically designed for construction settings builds a case for suicide prevention while promoting help-seeking and help-giving.

    This can also be given as a 2-hour course.

    VitalCog Certification is good for 2 years

  • In Spring 2026, I will be able to offer training to individuals who would like to become VitalCog instructors for the following modules:

I offer continuing education courses focused on ethics, telehealth, supervision, ACT, mental health emergency action plans (MHEAPs), and athlete mental health.

There are 2 ways I offer these continuing education courses:

  1. Book me for your event. I offer continuing education courses packages ranging from 1 hour to multi-day events.

  2. Purchase seats for your team in my existing continuing education courses (full course roster available here)
